If you are considering buying a new car, you can use operational leasing. This offers many benefits. Many companies offer this service. We’ll tell you how operational car leasing works in the Czech Republic.

Operating a lease is similar to leasing a car. The car is owned by a finance company, which is responsible for repairs and maintenance, insurance, and so on. The finance company concludes the contract for a specific period, typically ranging from one to five years, after which the client returns the car to them.

Benefits of Operational Leasing

Operational leasing primarily caters to individuals seeking a new car without any concerns. Customers only pay a monthly lump sum, which can be deducted from their taxes. Monthly payments for operational leasing also include a detailed plan and maintenance costs for the client. Thus, the client makes an advance payment for the expected service, insurance, and other services. Unforeseen expenses are virtually eliminated.

Which Czech banks offer car leasing?

Česká spořitelna

Česká spořitelna provides financing through its subsidiary Leasing Česká spořitelna. The company provides entrepreneurs with an individual approach and a product line. Interested parties can contact their banker and request a car leasing quote, or use the online application form to select the corporate client option. After this, the bank’s corporate sales manager will contact the client. In this case, operating leasing does not require a down payment. The contract includes maintenance, administration, and insurance.

ČSOB

At ČSOB, only entrepreneurs and businesses can lease cars for business use, including electric vehicles. There are benefits, such as customer service that is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, free spare cars all over Europe, an electronic logbook that makes keeping records easier, and over 500 approved service centers across the country.

Komerčni Banka

Komerční Banka provides operating leases to companies that are financially stable and have investments of more than one million crowns. The bank suggests that people who are interested communicate with a banking consultant or leasing professional on their own. Komerční Banka works with a supplier that promises to buy back the rented item after the lessee returns it.

Oberbank Leasing

Oberbank Leasing specializes in financing various types of assets, including freight and passenger vehicles, company fleets, construction and production machinery, material handling equipment, and agricultural/forestry machinery. They recommend contacting a consultant to discuss your specific needs and determine the best financing option for your business.

Raiffeisenbank (through Raiffeisen-Leasing)

Raiffeisenbank offers two primary operating lease options:

  • Operating Lease with Maintenance

This is the most popular choice, offering a comprehensive mobility solution. It typically requires no initial down payment and includes a fixed monthly payment that covers various services like breakdown insurance, warranty, and maintenance. This option is ideal for businesses that prioritize convenience and predictability.

  • Operating Lease without Maintenance

This option is suitable for clients who prefer lower monthly payments and don’t require additional services. While it doesn’t include the extensive benefits of the maintenance package (like Raiffeisen Leasing Assistance and after-sales services), it still provides basic assistance services for compulsory insurance and emergencies.

UniCredit Leasing

UniCredit Leasing offers a straightforward approach for entrepreneurs and companies: you choose a vehicle, purchase it, and then lease it back to UniCredit Leasing on agreed-upon terms. UniCredit then manages the vehicle’s operational costs, taking care of maintenance, repairs, and other related expenses. They also offer various additional services upon request, such as insurance coverage and GPS tracking, to tailor the lease to your specific needs.

Banks vary in the published range of commissions for individual transactions when it comes to operating lease prices, and many are also set individually.

Operational Leasing from car dealerships and specialized companies

Operational car leasing in the Czech Republic isn’t limited to banks; it can also be obtained directly from car dealerships and specialized companies. In this case, you choose the expected annual mileage and the desired lease period.

Auto na operák

At Auto na operák, you select from the available vehicles and specify the expected annual mileage and lease period (ranging from two to five years). Based on this information, the company calculates the down payment, excess mileage fee, and any reimbursement for unused mileage. Their basic operating lease package includes all mandatory payments, including insurance, with additional services like maintenance, tires, vignettes (toll stickers), fuel cards, and premium assistance available as add-ons. To qualify for a 0% down payment, you’ll need to submit at least two recent tax returns. Newer companies may need to provide a one-year tax return and a preliminary financial report for the current year.

sOperák

sOperák offers operational leasing to individuals, entrepreneurs, and companies. To get started, you fill out a form and confirm your creditworthiness by providing a tax return. The lease fee can include comprehensive insurance, warranty, periodic maintenance, inspections, wear and tear coverage, and winter tire storage, although the specific services may vary during the rental period.

Arval

Arval provides operating leases for both new and used vehicles, along with flexible leasing options like Arval Flex, which requires no upfront fees and allows for penalty-free early returns. Arval is also willing to adjust your contract if your actual mileage exceeds the initial estimate, and they actively monitor your mileage to keep you informed.

BARTH Operák

BARTH Operák caters to individuals, companies, and entrepreneurs, offering financial incentives and bonuses for car purchases. Start-up companies will need to provide supporting documents like a business plan, bank statements, or preliminary financial results as part of the application process. They also offer a generous mileage buffer of 5,000 km above the agreed-upon annual limit.

Drivalia GO

Drivalia GO (formerly LeasePlan) provides operational leasing for businesses and small entrepreneurs, with lease terms of up to 5 years. They offer three service packages: GO (basic), GO Plus (full service), and GO Premium (full service plus the option to add GO Flexi). One of their additional services, the Excess Wear Allowance, can reimburse up to CZK 10,000 for minor wear and tear upon returning the vehicle, depending on the chosen package. Legal entities need to provide financial statements for the last two years, while entrepreneurs need to submit tax returns.
